Cozumel

We were already docked when I heard Chris take off for his morning donut and Starbucks run.  Debbie and I went out on the verandah to check things out and it started to rain.  Chris went to the dining room for breakfast and Paige didn't want anything else.  When Chris came back he and Paige went to Adventure Ocean kids and Debbie and I had a peaceful breakfast in the Windjammer.  We could see the Caribbean Princess and Carnival Fantasy docked and the Carnival Paradise was docking downtown.  Always a busy port in Cozumel.  We also walked the ship and found the lookout deck on top of the bridge.  Although it is very, very windy up there they have those magnifying lookouts to see the stars that are over the bridge lookouts over the sea....yikes!  I can't imagine being up there at night.  I think it would be rather scary.  While up there the Vision of the Seas was backing into the spot next to us.  Debbie wanted to get off and visit her favorite drug store and the kids weren't interested in getting off so they got ready and went to the pool.  They practically had the whole pool deck to themselves.  After finishing yesterday's blog and posting I took my book and sat up near the pool with them until Debbie got back.  Shortly after, we all (well really all but Chris) were in need of a nap, maybe because of the heat.  Chris went to the arcade then came back and got Paige up to go play golf when they got back it was time to get ready for dinner.  The show tonight was Come Fly With Me and was a major acrobatic and aireal acrobatic show that was really good.  They were hanging from the ceiling and dropping down from everywhere.  We can still see the light from the shoreline on Cancun.  Tomorrow is our last day and there will be tons to do and get done.  Chris told me tonight that he is sad to get off the ship but he is getting a little tired of being with just me....okay then.  He will only think that until he is home and other grown ups are telling him what to do..did you brush your teeth?  Put on deodorant?  Stop playing with that or you will break it! Etc.  LOL  I will see how much time there is tomorrow to post but it may be when I get home since I can't post photos.

Another Sea Day

Chris has now found purpose to waking....to leave a note and run to the donut shop and then to Starbucks and bring it back to the cabin.  We had also ordered room service breakfast for the first time since it was a sea day.  We are cruising past Grand Cayman and saw a Princess ship and a Carnival ship headed there.  The kids were going ice skating in the caribbean this morning.  Chris wanted to go to the Flow Rider ( he now has a one track mind for all things Flow Rider) but I insisted he go with Paige to skate.  Of course once he did it (they get 30 minutes on the ice) he wanted to know if they could stay for the next session.

We went back to the cabin to get Debbie.  The kids went to the pool for awhile before we came back to let them change and we went to the "Dreamworks" parade on the Promenade with the Penguins, Shrek and Fiona and all the characters from Madagascar etc.  It was very cute and the kids enjoyed it.  Kay will be jealous since we met up with Shrek later for a photo op.  After the parade we tried to find a place to eat that wasn't overly crowded and it was impossible.  Anyone who writes this ship doesn't feel crowded with 6,000 passengers on it either hasn't been on the ship or hasn't left their cabin.  They lied...period.  We wound up at the Wipe Out Cafe which is back by the Flow Rider and sports area.  The kids went back to the pool for awhile then we gathered to watch the afternoon Diving Show at the Aqua theater.  It was very, very cute and funny and the diving was amazing.  It was the second formal night so we got ready for dinner.  We didn't have any shows booked tonight so we came back and changed.  The kids wanted to go to Adventure Ocean so Debbie and I got a whole hour and went to the casino.  We played our favorite table game...3 card poker and both of us did very well.  We had a fun dealer...Radu.  We quit while we were ahead and came back to the cabin to see if the kids had been here but they never came back until 10 PM.  Paige had an upset stomach last night but other than that everyone was fine and soon were asleep.

It was another good and entertaining day for all!

Jamaica Mon and Flow Riders by Paige

First, we woke up to an amazing sunrise on the ship. After we enjoyed that sunrise, we got ready for the day ahead of us. Then we headed to the Wipeout CafĂ© to eat our breakfast. I got wet with apple juice when Chris spilled it and it all went on me! Still, that was some good food! While grandma and Debbie finished up their breakfast, Chris and I played table tennis. After we played a couple times, we started to go to our Flow rider lessons. At first I was super scared, but then it got easy after they showed us what to do.  We started on our stomachs, then went on our knees, then sat on our butts, which is surprisingly hard.  Then the teacher , Anna, helped me lay on my back. By the time Chris and I were done, we were doing good on the boogie board. We also had fun with the 3 other people in our class even though they were way older than us. We arrived in Jamaica Mon while we were taking our helpful lessons. We could see the port from the top of the ship. So we went to the cabin and collected all of the stuff we needed and left for the gangway. We looked at some of the little shops on the port. I liked the people there better than the ones at Labadee because they weren’t pulling me around trying to make me buy something. Then after I bought something for my family, we went to Margaritaville and shopped for my family even more. Then we ate a huge thing of nachos. Don’t worry, not the whole thing! But then, Chris spilled his dacquiri on the table and in his chair, at least it didn’t get on me this time! Then we got back on the ship. We went to the Flowrider again to show off our new moves! After that, we went to get ready for dinner. We went to dinner and got some yummy food. After that, we went to see Shrek and went to Headliner Showtime. After the show, we went to the cabin and fell into a deep sleep.

Labadee-Labbadabbado & Labadoozies

Somehow the blog for this day was deleted when I added the photos....bummer.  I do remember that we were all exhausted the night before and slept hard.  I got up and peaked out the window without knowing the time and we were coming into Labadee.  I got everyone up so that they could see the boat parade (actually little boats with colorful sails).  They were unimpressed and promptly went back to bed!  After getting up the second time we went to breakfast in Windjammer since most of the people jumped ship as soon as the gangway was in place.  We took our time then went back to apply sunscreen and head ashore.  It was extremely humid and the pier is very long.  We finally get to the area where the tram is running to different areas and decide to go to the Dragon's Breath Roller Coaster first since it was out near the zip line and the farthest away from where we wanted to end up the rest of the day.  We signed all the waivers and Debbie agreed to take them one at a time and Paige called dibs on being first.  This sent Chris into a downward spiral and he was determined to make everyone around him miserable as he was.  The line was long there and it took forever for them (close to an hour) to get to the front.  I spoke with the people running the ride and explained the situation and they agreed Chris could wait on the platform until Debbie came back with Paige and that he didn't have to wait through the line again.  He was still unhappy until he was actually in the coaster and it was finally his turn.  The rides were $22/pp per ride plus an hour of your day waiting in that line.  Ok we leave there and find a tram and head back over to where the Aqua Park and Water Slide are located.  It was quite a walk too from where the tram left us off.  Again I signed waivers and paid $24/pp for them to ride the slide all day...wow, what a bargain!  After doing it once they decided it was too far to climb and the line too long at the top and wanted to do the Aqua Park (blow up climb on in a roped off ocean area) which is $22/pp for 1 hour!!!  Really people?  Again I fill out waiver forms and while I'm doing that Paige hears people talking about getting stung by jellyfish in the water there.  She decides she doesn't want to go but Chris does so off he goes.  Debbie and I find two lounge chairs on the beach in the area between the Aqua Park and the slide and Paige decides she will go do the slide.  Debbie and I try to get comfortable in these chairs but there is no way.  They sag in the seat and regardless of how you put the back you are still in an awkward position.  Lovely.  A guy comes by selling frozen drinks called a Labadoozy.  By this time we would have had anything as long as it contained alcohol.  They were actually very fruity and refreshing.  Soon Paige was back and wanted one too so she got the virgin version. She had also decided she now wanted to go to the Aqua Park with Chris.  Again fill out the waivers and they won't let her go with Chris who is already out there but rather she must wait and go in the next group even if I pay for the full hour and there is only a half hour left.  Now I'm irritated!  We get back to Debbie and a girl Lindsay's age just down from us has been stung quite badly by a jellyfish and now Paige is glad she couldn't go into the water.   Debbie decided to take Paige to look through the "Artisan Village" and I waited for Chris to come back.  I got Chris a frozen drink and we gathered everything and went to find Debbie and Paige who were coming out of the shopping area.  Debbie said they were horribly aggressive and they were trying to pull on Paige and put bracelets on her.  Enough.  We went and got in line for the tram back to the entrance.  We waited in line 30 minutes and then had the walk back down what seemed like an endless pier and onto the ship.  We were so happy to be back on the ship!  I know we went and got some snacks and then all of us needed a shower.  Dinner in the dining room and I can't remember what we did but I know we were all in bed and asleep very early that night.
