Sea Day

Chris of course was awake at the break of dawn and we had discussed the “rules”  prior to going to bed last night.  Chris and Paige are beyond excited and happy with this ship!  Debbie and I are beyond exhausted.  Huge is an understatement but the attention to detail and the sheer volume of things to do are mind boggling.  Chris and Paige left us the required note telling us where they were going and what time it was (even though Debbie and I were up).  Donut Shop and Starbucks 7:10 AM.  They were back in the cabin by 7:25 and had to go to two different decks as the donut shop is on the “boardwalk” at the back of the ship and Starbucks is mid ship on a lower deck.  Good first test, they can find the cabin.  I must say next that this suite is more than sweet!  We are loving it walk in closet and all!  Ok back to the story of the day.  They had eaten the donuts already and wanted us to get ready and go to breakfast.  We decided to go to Johnny Rockets which is in the boardwalk area.  They serve breakfast in many of the smaller restaurants/pay venues which is nice.  Everyone had a full breakfast including the twins and Chris had an extra order of bacon of course.  It is now only 8:15.  The Rock Climbing Wall is the next deck up in the same area so they wanted to go see if they could do that.  It didn’t open until 9 so we walked around a bit then headed up there.  Chris actually was able to get through to the first level and ring the bell.  Paige got about half way up and decided she had enough and came back down.  We had not been all the way up on the ship yet to see the Flow Riders so they wanted to do this next so now we head to the top back of the ship to see that when they realize the Zip Line is there and open.  That was next and Debbie and I got some great photos of both of them doing the zip line.  Took a lot of guts and I think they were both horrified when they opened they gate and let them go but after doing it both of them went and did it again and Chris a 3rd time!  He wanted to do it again but they told him only 3/day.  Now it is only 9:45 and we have walked all over the back end of this ship already.  They decide they want to go swimming now so we return to the cabin to put on suits and sunscreen.  Debbie and I find a shaded and breezy area to sit and Chris wants to go to the Flow Rider so I take him and leave Paige with Debbie at the pool.  He actually did really well and didn’t wipe out the first time.  The second time he tried it the guy was showing him how to do a few different positions and he went flying into the catch basin behind.  Now panic mom, no broken bones or bruises and he can’t wait to do it again.  Paige had come up there to watch Chris with me and one on the guys working there splashed all of us sitting in the viewing bleachers and my hair was drenched and I had water running off my glasses but it was pretty funny.  Paige had left her card with Debbie so she couldn’t do it.  We headed back to the cabin for them to get showered and dressed then we went to the Diamond Club (thanks Debbie) to watch the first parade of the cruise on the promenade.  The kids enjoyed it.  We had lunch in the Promenade Café and Chris actually ate a bowl of Cream of Vegetable soup and liked it!  He proceeded to go back and get another bowl and then had roast beef and Key Lime Pie for dessert.  We all enjoyed our lunch much better today than boarding day when it was so horribly crowded everywhere on the ship.  After lunch we had show reservations to see Hairspray at the 2:30 matinee.  It was funny to watch all of us in the show were so tired and I think the kids would have napped had there been time.  We all enjoyed the show and we headed back to get ready for formal night.  The twins got dressed and they wanted to go for a walk together before dinner and go get their photos done while Debbie and I got showered and ready.  They really wanted to buy us flowers but couldn’t find a flower shop so they bought us really cute coffee mugs filled with candy.  They are so sweet.  We met them at the dining room and had dinner then came back to the cabin to change since we had reservations for our second show of the day…Oasis of Dreams at the Aqua Theater.  This is the water show and I have to say amazing performance.  You really do marvel at the engineering that goes into this and the talent of the divers and arcrobatics.  Needless to say the show finished at almost 10 and when all came back to the cabin and crashed!  I am so tired I can barely move.  Tomorrow we arrive in Labadee at 7:30 tomorrow but somehow I don’t know that I will be up to see our arrival.
