Our Last Day on the Oasis
As anticipated, we hit the floor running as there was much to do and get done today. Chris did his usual run to the donut shop and Starbucks then he and Paige took off for breakfast while Debbie and I dressed. The donuts were baked fresh each day and were good. All of them iced which I don't usually eat but they were good. Paige wanted to buy a charm bracelet they were selling on the Promenade and Debbie wanted to get a couple Tshirts to play with as she had found a pattern on Pinterest that she wanted to do. Chris wanted to go to the Flow Rider.....imagine that! We went to the Promenade sale and dealt with the crowds to get the Tshirts and Paige's bracelet then back to the cabin for Paige to change and meet Chris at the Flow Rider. Debbie and I went to the Windjammer and were seated where we could see the kids in line for the Flow Rider while we had breakfast. Then we took off to see the Viking Crown Lounge which we think is the only thing we haven't seen and of course walked from the front to the back and up and down. While on our hike however we found the iLounge and I was able to print off the twins boarding passes for the flight home. I did the luggage service which means when I put our three bags out tonight, I won't see them again until Atlanta airport baggage claim. They also print my boarding pass. We have used this service several times before and it is so worth $20 not to have to deal with the luggage through customs and taxis. Another item crossed off the to do list. In our travels we also found the jogging track which is on the life boat deck. It was very nice and they had it all mapped out. Very funny signs to keep you moving as well. We finally found the Viking Lounge and it was very pretty but few people there. We also walked through the Solarium which was adults only and beautiful. Then we went to look at the photos that had been accumulating all week. This ship does them much like NCL Epic with carousels but instead of deck and cabin number on the Epic, here you had a carousel and folder number printed on your card. All the photos of your group are in the folder. They also had them on screen on computers throughout the area and in your staterooms. There were many good ones of the kids but I had to limit the purchases so picked out the ones I thought were best. Another item checked off the list. We left the kids a note and told them where to find us and they met us in the photo area. We went back to the cabin for them to tell me what they were wearing for dinner and on the plane tomorrow so that I could pack the rest. Chris went to the arcade and Paige went to sleep for a nap in my bed while Debbie and I packed. We got most of it done and our paperwork completed for customs, etc then went to the Seafood Shack for lunch. We have been wanting to try this pay venue all week but it was never open or they were having a party there when we had gone before. Paige had clam chowder in a bread bowl, Chris had a burger and Dede and I split the seafood plate for two. It was just ok and basically the same thing they had in the dining room so disappointing for the money spent. Paige has already lost the clasp on her bracelet so she and Chris had back there to see if they will give her another as she is beside herself. I went to pack some more and get a shower. Honestly there was so much going on I can't really remember all we did except I had to go to Guest Services as the Tshirt guy said he voided the full price transaction which was supposed to be sale and when I was checking my account on the TV both charges were on there with no credit...oh joy since now there are lines twenty deep down there. I have to say they had plenty of officers around asking what you needed and told me to go back to where we got it and they would handle it there. I did and he did have it there waiting for his "manager" to take care of. It was done on the final bill. They told Paige to come back at 9 PM to get another bracelet and we had ordered a couple pictures that were to be ready at 9 as well. We went to dinner and the only thing we hadn't done that the kids wanted to do was the Rising Tide Bar as we tried the other day and it wasn't rising.....no that is wrong. It had risen to the top and was stuck there for two days. No worries as it exits both on the Promenade and then goes up three floors to Central Park and you can get off there as well. Makes a trip up or down every 15 minutes. Another engineering marvel as the under side of this bar has a water feature. I have photos to explain it but it really is amazing. We did it after dinner and the kids loved it. You can take kids before 10 PM and after that it is adults only. So now we have done it all and many of them over and over. We went back to the cabin as Paige was tired and while they watched TV and got ready for bed, Debbie went to the casino and I went to get Paige's bracelet and the photos we had ordered. When I got back Paige was happy to have her bracelet and I was happy to not have to walk anywhere on this ship again tonight! According to the jogging track 2.4 times around the track is 1 mile. I can't even begin to think how many miles we walked on this monstrous ship this week but it is now coming to an end. Debbie came back a winner we finished up the packing and labeling and put the luggage out. I'll sum up the ship tomorrow. I am going to go back through the days and add the pictures that go with that day.
